Ross is hoping to secure her Olympic the first medal of gold however, she also hopes to win more. It could be the last time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. "I'm planning to test a little luck." Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and sister. She was able to participate in many sports in Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. When she played in the final sport she was clearly the standout. According to her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the volleyball court during her high-school career.
